The Master of Science in Integrated Biology is conferred by the Graduate College, with coursework administered through the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. This program offers both thesis and non-thesis options (with the non-thesis track serving solely as a terminal degree). The thesis-based iBio program mandates completion of 30 graduate-level semester credits, including original research culminating in a thesis. A maximum of 9 research credits may count toward the degree.
Additional coursework is determined through collaboration with the student's advisory committee, customized to align with individual academic backgrounds and professional aspirations. While students earn credit for required courses, any classes taken to address undergraduate deficiencies do not contribute to the 30-credit graduation requirement.
