Our graduate program in Physics and Biology in Medicine offers three CAMPEP-certified specializations (Therapeutic Medical Physics, Medical Imaging, Molecular Imaging) along with one non-certified track (Molecular & Cellular Oncology). Students completing accredited tracks qualify for medical physics residencies and receive graduation certificates.
The Physics and Biology in Medicine program (previously called Biomedical Physics) represents an interdisciplinary graduate initiative within UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine. Program participants engage in cutting-edge Biomedical Research focused on Radiological Imaging and Therapy, bridging multiple scientific fields. This work necessitates collaborative teams of researchers with expertise in:
Biological sciences and related specialties (including molecular biology)
Chemical sciences and their subfields (such as biochemistry)
Physical sciences and specialized areas (like medical physics or biophysics)
Mathematical disciplines and computational approaches
Engineering or Computer Science domains, including biomedical and nuclear engineering specialties.
