The Global Health Studies graduate Certificate program consists of 18 semester hours of coursework. Participants must complete at least 12 semester hours at the 3000-level or above through the University of Iowa. A minimum GPA of 2.50 is required across all certificate coursework.
This program is available to all graduate and professional students at the University of Iowa. Those interested in pursuing the certificate should consult with the Global Health Studies faculty advisor. Program staff will facilitate adding the certificate to a student's academic plan.
Certificate requirements include core courses, electives, a capstone global health project with both public presentation and written components, and world language study. Students may apply up to 4 semester hours of GHS:4990 Independent Project in Global Health toward the certificate. Course options include Global Health Studies Program offerings (GHS prefix) or approved courses from other departments.
