Anthropology offers understanding of our biological and cultural origins while presenting an integrated perspective on how economic, social, political, and religious structures interconnect. It enables us to examine our societal frameworks, the dynamics between people and communities, and the origins of ideas and emotions that can either unite or divide cultural groups. BA candidates are urged (while BS students must) to engage in fieldwork or research, with ample chances for international study. Faculty expertise covers diverse subjects, global regions, and all four anthropology disciplines. The BA curriculum delivers a thorough introduction to Anthropology's four branches and a comparative view of human societies. Beyond core requirements, students can acquire practical skills through field schools, collaborating on faculty research projects, and pursuing independent studies in specialized areas.
