The Master of Laws (LL.M.) program equips students, regardless of previous legal background, to advance their careers through comprehensive exposure to U.S. legal principles. Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution recognized by the International Association of Universities. This degree may be in any field of study. As Illinois' flagship institution, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has a mandate to improve lives locally, nationally, and globally through excellence in education, research, community involvement, and economic growth. The Illinois LLM curriculum prepares all students - with or without legal experience - for professional success by offering international participants an introduction to American law alongside specialized study in their chosen academic or career focus areas.
