The Curriculum, Aesthetics, and Teacher Education (CATE) department serves both students and faculty with concentrations in one or more core disciplines: curriculum development, aesthetic studies, and teacher preparation, along with specialized tracks including early childhood, middle school, secondary education, and social studies instruction. The Department of Curriculum and Instruction provides graduate-level programs awarding Master of Education (Ed.M.), Master of Science (M.S.), Master of Arts (M.A.), Certificate of Advanced Study (C.A.S.), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degrees. The Master of Education and Certificate of Advanced Study programs equip experienced educators with enhanced skills and knowledge, empowering them to drive educational innovation within their schools and districts. The Curriculum Research, Early Childhood Education, Aesthetics, and Teacher Education (CREATE) initiative cultivates scholars committed to exploring curriculum theory, early childhood systems, aesthetic frameworks, and evolving teacher preparation methodologies. CREATE faculty foster diverse interdisciplinary approaches. The Master's program particularly benefits practicing educators and professionals seeking to expand their influence in the field of education.
