Wichita State's Master of Education (MEd) in special education merges top-tier, accredited coursework with hands-on research and practical learning experiences within Kansas' most extensive school district, paving the way for sought-after careers across diverse educational environments. The program provides several specialization options. Designed for working professionals, most participants balance full-time jobs while earning their degree through evening, online, and hybrid (blended in-person/online) classes. This program also serves as strong groundwork for pursuing doctoral studies in education. The early childhood unified track consists of 31 credit hours, equipping graduates to support children from infancy through third grade. Students may opt to complete just the initial 24 credit hours to obtain an Early Childhood Unified endorsement, at which point they are classified as non-degree-seeking graduate students. The early childhood unified program curriculum spans 31 credit hours and trains educators to work with young learners from birth to third grade. Those pursuing only the endorsement can finish the first 24 credit hours and will be designated as non-degree-seeking graduate students.
