The Program in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology (PEEC) is a cross-departmental initiative offering customized education for careers in these scientific fields. Given the wide scope of disciplines involved, the program has no rigid course mandates beyond participating in its seminar series and yearly graduate symposium. Students typically take courses from various departments, as advised by their faculty committee. The program's framework balances flexibility with strong mentorship, aiming to cultivate well-rounded scientists with expertise in ecology, evolutionary biology, and related fields. PEEC grants both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. As an interdisciplinary university-wide program, it delivers tailored graduate training, equipping students for research and academic careers while ensuring comprehensive knowledge and technical proficiency in ecological and evolutionary sciences.
