The Psychology program offers a comprehensive curriculum rooted in research, catering to diverse student goals. This program serves both those seeking a liberal arts education with psychology as a central focus and students preparing for graduate studies in psychology or related fields like medicine, law, social work, business, counseling, and labor relations. The major delivers both specialized and broad knowledge through required courses including introductory psychology, statistics, core subject areas, research methods, and electives for deeper exploration. Most concentrations feature a dedicated core course and tailored research methods component, except for the intradisciplinary track. When planning their studies, students may choose either the flexible Intradisciplinary Psychology path to pursue personal interests or select a specialized concentration from the options provided. Undergraduates can also engage in hands-on research by joining laboratory projects. The Undergraduate Advising Office assists students in designing customized academic and research plans aligned with their aspirations. Social psychology examines attitudes, social cognition, relationships, interactions, and cultural influences on behavior.
