Students considering graduate studies in any discipline should consult their advisor about additional required coursework early in their academic journey. A Major Plan of Study document must be finalized and filed with the LAS Student Affairs Office by the conclusion of the fifth semester (60-75 credit hours). With advisor approval, study abroad courses can fulfill major or minor requirements. For departmental honors: Students maintaining a minimum 3.3 GPA in all major courses and completing a faculty-supervised independent research project for major credit will be considered for graduation with distinction.
