The Bachelor of Musical Arts with a Lyric Theatre major is a cross-disciplinary program tailored for performer-singers, blending instruction in theater and dance alongside musical training. Students must select between two specialization tracks: Performance (for actors) or Creative (for roles like directors, choreographers, dramaturges, designers, or composers). The BMA emphasizes vocal health and adaptability while providing abundant performance experiences. Alongside top-tier music instruction, Lyric Theatre majors can opt for either the Creative or Performance track, each structured to equip students for their professional aspirations. The Creative track curriculum covers scriptwriting, stage direction, and musical composition, whereas the Performance track features regular vocal coaching, theater dance, and acting/movement improvisation. All participants complete foundational Lyric Theatre coursework encompassing musical theater repertoire, speech training, movement studies, Somatics, and acting fundamentals.
