UTSA's music program offers a solid groundwork to cultivate your artistic passion. You can select between a Bachelor of Arts in Music or a Bachelor of Music with specializations in Music Education, Composition, Performance, or Music Marketing. These focus areas are chosen after admission and consultation with your advisor.
Earning a Music degree from UTSA makes a meaningful impact on society while being part of a nationally accredited program by the National Association of Schools of Music. You'll join the ranks of renowned musicians as you embark on careers like performing artist, sound technician, composer, music teacher, or music marketing specialist.
The School of Music provides Bachelor of Music (B.M.), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Music, and B.A. in Commercial and Digital Music degrees. The B.M. program allows concentrations in Music Education (with teaching certification), Performance, Composition, or Music Marketing. Additional minors include Dance, Music, Jazz Studies, Music Marketing, and Music Technology, all under NASM accreditation.
Music Marketing: The Music Marketing Internship (MUS 4933) lets students arrange their own professional internships. Guided by industry experts and faculty, students implement academic knowledge in real-world music business environments.
