The UIS Theatre program aims to provide students with opportunities to enhance their skills as theatre practitioners through engagement with classic dramatic works both in academic settings and live performances. It promotes theatre as a dynamic art form that unites audiences to reflect on shared human experiences and our contemporary society. Graduates who participate in our theatre curriculum emerge not just as more discerning audience members, but some may even launch professional journeys in the performing arts.
Our curriculum introduces learners to masterworks by renowned theatre practitioners worldwide. While cultivating a dependable theatrical methodology, students acquire insights into theatrical mechanics and its evolving legacy. Furthermore, theatre participation fosters exceptional collaborative abilities, as stage production fundamentally relies on collective creative effort.
