Earning an MPA degree opens doors to make a meaningful impact on communities at local, state, and global levels. The need for skilled professionals with leadership capabilities, financial expertise, policy evaluation skills, and other competencies gained through an MPA has reached unprecedented heights.
Reflecting the interdisciplinary essence of public administration, UIC's MPA faculty bring expertise from diverse academic backgrounds. Their scholarly preparation and research focus span numerous critical domains such as legal studies, organizational leadership, political systems, quantitative analysis, social research, economic theory, corporate operations, institutional behavior, personnel management, fiscal planning, and digital systems. This core faculty is enhanced by accomplished adjunct instructors who are active leaders in public governance, legal practice, and administrative sectors.
Applicants are considered on an individual basis. In addition to the Graduate College minimum requirements, applicants must meet the following program requirements: Baccalaureate Field No restrictions. Grade Point Average At least 3.00/4.00 for the final 60 semester (90 quarter) hours of undergraduate study.
Minimum English Competency Test Score: TOEFL 80, with sub scores of Reading 19, Listening 17, Speaking 20, and Writing 21 (iBT Test); 60, with sub scores of Reading 19, Listening 17, Writing 21 (revised Paper-Delivered Test), OR, IELTS 6.5, with sub scores of 6.0 for all four sub scores, OR, PTE-Academic 54, with sub scores of Reading 51, Listening 47, Speaking 53, and Writing 56.
