IDEAS, which stands for Interdisciplinary Education in the Arts, is a specialized program within the School of Art & Art History. Our mission centers on the belief that today's complex global landscape demands versatile, cross-disciplinary approaches – with the arts serving as the primary catalyst for innovative thought and creation. The IDEAS program cultivates tomorrow's visionary leaders, equipping them to navigate challenges with both analytical rigor and artistic imagination, preparing them for dynamic careers that bridge artistic disciplines within an evolving digital ecosystem.
At the heart of IDEAS lie four interdisciplinary core courses that explore creative processes across visual arts, design, architecture, performing arts, curatorial studies, and art theory. Following this foundational training spanning the College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts, students undertake a culminating senior project, developed either through individual mentorship or within established academic frameworks.
First-year applicants are currently enrolled in high school or have not attended college since graduation.
