The Classical Studies major and minor provides an interdisciplinary approach to learning, encompassing diverse subjects including mythology, drama, philosophy, science, gender studies, political theory, sociology, and anthropology—delivering a comprehensive liberal arts education within one cohesive program.

Departmental courses center on the cultures of Ancient Greece, Rome, the Ancient Near East, Egypt, the Arabic world, and modern Greece, exploring their languages, literature, history, philosophy, religion, art, and archaeology.
