Graduate studies can specialize in modern European history, modern U.S. history, or the North American West (with emphasis on the Pacific Northwest). Additional program highlights encompass studies in racial and ethnic history, Indigenous cultures, Latin American traditions, labor movements, gender studies, religious history, political developments, and global affairs. Participants can opt for either a non-thesis track or a thesis-based approach. The program also offers a doctoral degree in Historical Archaeology.
