You'll have access to faculty mentors from both history and anthropology departments, whose specialties encompass diverse areas including Native American/Latin American studies, Plateau archaeology, artifact preservation techniques, ethnographic research on Plateau tribes, modern American society, human evolutionary studies, and South American indigenous cultures.
Program participants gain exclusive access to the university's renowned Alfred W. Bowers Laboratory of Anthropology, which houses one of the nation's most extensive metal artifact conservation facilities. The laboratory maintains comprehensive archaeological records of Idaho, an Asian-American cultural artifacts collection, and dedicated workspaces for graduate research projects.
