The increasing need for food and textile crops calls for optimizing the long-term viability of farming practices and rethinking our approaches to cultivation, distribution, and food transportation. This curriculum offers a scientifically grounded perspective on diverse aspects of food systems, covering sustainable agriculture, food science and safety, as well as regulations and dietary health. Students will investigate methods for food production that protect vital natural resources like soil and water.

A significant portion of learning occurs beyond traditional classrooms, particularly at the Soil Steward's campus farm where participants engage in growing, promoting, selling, and delivering food products. Additionally, internship opportunities allow students to develop expertise in their future roles as food industry specialists.
