This curriculum explores the properties and interactions of matter and energy, covering essential topics like classical mechanics, electromagnetism, contemporary physics, quantum theory, and thermodynamics. Students develop skills to tackle challenging scientific problems across diverse fields including healthcare, engineering, power generation, and beyond.
Physics students acquire practical expertise by designing and performing experiments with cutting-edge research methods and digital tools. Unique investigative opportunities are available through the department's NSF-funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) initiative.
