The BA program is ideal for students seeking a comprehensive foundation and the option to pursue a double major. Those aiming for graduate studies in physics or similar disciplines may find the more rigorous BS program better suited to their needs.
Our department provides both BA and BS degrees in physics, as well as combined physics and astronomy programs. The BA track offers students a wide-ranging perspective along with the adaptability to combine majors.
The Physics and Astronomy Department presents diverse undergraduate opportunities, from beginner courses for non-science majors to specialized minors in physics or astrophysics, culminating in full BA and BS degree programs. Students must declare their major by sophomore year's end. Prospective physics or astrophysics majors should consult with the department's undergraduate office before this deadline to receive a faculty advisor. All core lectures are delivered by our dedicated professors, with graduate students and advanced undergraduates supporting workshops, discussion sessions, and laboratory instruction. Our curriculum's adaptability allows students to combine their studies with pre-med, pre-law, education certification, or additional majors.
