The Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (MSIE) is a graduate program centered around thesis research, delivering advanced studies across the industrial engineering discipline. This curriculum includes specialized coursework in operations research, statistical analysis, production systems, quality and reliability engineering, project leadership, and systems engineering. MSIE candidates must successfully develop and defend an original research thesis.

Qualification Requirements

All graduate students are required to provide proof of the attainment of a Bachelor's degree before enrolling at the University of Houston. Credential Evaluations are completed in house at the Graduate School, and outside evaluations will not be accepted.
The Cullen College of Engineering requires a minimum of 3.0/4.0 G.P.A. over the last 60 semester hours or 90-quarter hours for the admission to the graduate programs.

The minimum TOEFL score required is 79 for the internet-based test.
The minimum TOEFL score for the paper-based (pBT) exam is 550 or higher.
The minimum TOEFL score for the new revised paper-based exam is: Reading 20, Listening 20, and Writing 20.
The minimum IELTS score required is an overall score of a 6.5.
