The Department of History provides Master's programs specializing in various historical fields including U.S., European, Latin American, Ancient, Modern Arab/Middle Eastern, Transnational, and Public History across all time periods. Additionally, students can take classes in African, Asian, Modern Arab/Middle Eastern, and World history. The Public History Non-Thesis Track stands as the flagship program for public history, emphasizing hands-on application of skills in real-world environments. This program caters to students aiming for careers in public history sectors like institutional history, cultural preservation, policy analysis, community history, archival work, and museum curation. The degree requires completing 36 credit hours of graduate-level (6000) courses, which includes both classroom instruction and a 9-credit Public History Internship. No foreign language proficiency is necessary.
