The History Department is dedicated to academic excellence in teaching and research while prioritizing student support and engagement. Our programs cater to both undergraduate and graduate students.
The History MA program provides customized study plans with options for transnational and comparative approaches. Working closely with advisors, students craft their curriculum to align with their academic goals and research pursuits. Combining directed readings, independent projects, and seminar courses, the program fosters both specialized knowledge and broader contextual understanding.
Earning an MA requires completing 30 graduate credits post-bachelor's degree. Most History Department courses are worth 5 credits each. Full-time MA candidates typically complete 15 credits per semester over one year to reach the 30-credit requirement. Students can choose between two MA pathways: Plan A or Plan B.
Our department provides MA and PhD programs through a highly selective, intimate learning environment that blends personalized mentorship with the advantages of a top-tier research university. During their studies, students benefit from access to renowned faculty, exceptional library resources, and collaboration opportunities with other prestigious academic departments.
