The Industrial Engineering PhD program offers doctoral candidates comprehensive academic training for careers in academia, government, or industry. Alongside mandatory coursework, students undertake self-directed research leading to novel scholarly contributions. Research areas span classic IE fields like reliability analysis, facility planning, automated production, workplace safety, quality assurance, and project coordination, as well as advanced subjects including large-scale optimization, statistical modeling, system simulation, engineering systems, and heuristic methods. Qualification Requirements
The Cullen College of Engineering requires a minimum of 3.0/4.0 G.P.A. over the last 60 semester hours or 90-quarter hours for admission to the graduate programs.
Students who transfer from another graduate program must have at least a 3.0/4.0 G.P.A. on all graduate work completed.
