The DMA in collaborative piano program equips accomplished pianists with advanced training and performance opportunities as partners with singers and instrumentalists, while preparing them to teach collaborative skills at university level. Students can explore diverse musical avenues and focus on vocal accompaniment, instrumental partnership, or chamber music performance. This Doctor of Musical Arts curriculum is designed for elite pianists pursuing either solo performance or keyboard collaborative studies at the pinnacle of academic and artistic achievement. Our program fosters students' musical foundations through demanding yet supportive instruction and outstanding artistic mentorship.

Graduates of our solo piano track regularly achieve recognition in prestigious competitions worldwide and build successful careers as performers and educators internationally. Keyboard collaborative arts candidates must master solo repertoire, allowing them to bridge the gap between individual and ensemble performance and challenge the traditional dichotomy between soloists and accompanists. Houston's vibrant arts scene provides our students with exceptional opportunities to cultivate rewarding professional paths as both performers and teachers within the local community.
