The Bachelor of Music program cultivates versatile, highly skilled musicians through comprehensive training. The curriculum combines general education courses with specialized instruction in music theory, history, and practical performance lessons.
The Composition concentration within the Bachelor of Music degree equips students for professional composing careers or advanced compositional studies. Alongside core music theory and history classes shared by all music majors, students receive personalized composition instruction and training on their primary instrument. The program focuses intensely on securing professional performances of original works and developing deep familiarity with contemporary classical repertoire. Graduates will have presented at least one hour of their original compositions in public performances by degree completion.
