The Composition degree program cultivates essential abilities for aspiring music composers, offering specialized training in orchestration and music theory. Students pursuing Composition must audition as instrumental, piano, or vocal minors. After fulfilling second-year prerequisites with a minimum 3.0 GPA in all theory coursework up to MUSB-042, candidates gain entry into the program's upper division. Every Composition major must present a senior recital featuring their original works.
