The University of Houston's Dance program aims to build student confidence through rigorous dance training and developing collaborative creativity skills.
Students can pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Bachelor of Arts in Dance, Dance Minor, or an approved curriculum for Secondary Education Dance Teaching Certification.
Those pursuing Dance Teacher Certification must complete both the B.A. in Dance and the College of Education's Teacher Education Program for their minor requirements.
We empower students to discover their artistic voice through dance, cultivate intellectual curiosity, and equip them with essential life skills like analytical thinking and creative problem-solving. Our program serves as Houston's dance hub, offering workshops, collaborative opportunities, performances, and initiatives through the Center for Choreography.
