Journalists act as guardians of public interest matters. They thoroughly examine current events and share their discoveries with precision. Students will learn about the political, financial, and societal frameworks involved in news distribution.

Our journalism curriculum extends past conventional academic environments. Our courses replicate actual newsroom operations. Alongside fundamental journalism courses like Print and Digital Media Writing, we provide specialized classes in international journalism and a Latino Journalism minor to broaden students' perspectives.

The campus features the Center for Student Media, home to the University of Houston's daily newspaper, radio station, and television network. This facility is open for all journalism students to utilize. Every on-campus media outlet is managed entirely by students, offering an authentic professional experience that enhances classroom instruction.
