The Department of Modern and Classical Languages provides a Master of Arts in World Cultures and Literatures, along with Bachelor of Arts programs in Chinese Studies, French, Italian Studies, and World Cultures and Literature. These include specializations in Ancient Studies, German Studies, Francophone Cultures Studies, Global Cinema Studies, Global Modernity Studies, and Middle Eastern Studies. Additionally, we offer a minor in Jewish Studies, a minor in India Studies, and language courses or minors in 13 different languages. Our student-focused curriculum emphasizes skill development, critical analysis, and writing proficiency. By studying languages, cultures, and literature, students develop the ability to connect across cultures, engage globally, and gain fresh perspectives on their own heritage.
