Chemical signatures serve as effective indicators and archives of both natural and anthropogenic shifts in ocean conditions. Within the Marine Geology and Geochemistry Division (MGGD), our research focuses on analyzing and measuring chemical processes across the land-ocean-atmosphere continuum. Through laboratory experiments, field studies, and computational models, we examine climate change impacts, ocean acidification, and biological thresholds in marine environments. Our shared objective is to comprehend historical and projected variations in carbon, oxygen, and nutrient cycles, while forecasting their consequences for Earth's interconnected biogeochemical systems.
