The MPH program in Health Policy and Management (HPM) equips students for careers in healthcare administration, policy development, and service management. MPH candidates undertake foundational public health studies covering epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion strategies, healthcare systems, program design, and environmental health, along with a culminating seminar, practical fieldwork, a final research project, and an oral capstone defense. The HPM curriculum specifically includes: 1) Advanced Health Policy Studies, 2) Leadership in Healthcare Administration, 3) Ethics, Legal Issues and Health Policy, 4) Global Healthcare Systems Management, and 5) Public Health Informatics.
This full-time MPH program typically spans two academic years, requiring 42 credit hours for completion. Students must complete at least 18 credits from 600-700 level courses, including one graduate seminar in their specialization or related discipline. A maximum of 9 credits from PH 699 (independent study/research) can count toward degree requirements. Individual program requirements are finalized through consultation with the student's academic advisor and committee members.
