The dual Master's program enables students to simultaneously pursue two degrees while applying up to nine shared credits across both programs. Prospective dual-degree candidates need to submit individual applications for each program, fulfill all admission criteria for both, and begin both programs in the same term (with Law being the exception). Note that while the LIS program admits students in both Fall and Spring terms, some programs may only accept Fall entrants.
LIS candidates pursuing a JD must complete at least one graduate semester before commencing law studies. Conversely, law students aiming for an MLISc need to finish their first year of law school before starting MLISc coursework. After gaining admission to both programs, students must formally declare their dual-degree plans by submitting a department-approved memorandum to the Office of Graduate Education.
