The William S. Richardson School of Law's Master of Laws (LLM) program gained approval from the American Bar Association in 2003. Participants must complete 24 credit hours (with up to 6 credits allowed from non-Law School departments) to earn a general LLM degree, with optional certification available in specific focus areas.
This program mainly caters to international law graduates, typically pursuing full-time studies for one academic year. Domestic attorneys seeking specialized knowledge in subjects not covered during their JD studies may also enroll. U.S. legal professionals can choose part-time enrollment, spreading their coursework across two or more years. Note that most classes occur during daytime hours, with limited evening course options available each year.
Students focusing their studies in one of our distinguished specialty areas can earn an additional certification alongside their degree. Currently, we provide specialized certificates in Criminal Law
