Linguistics involves the systematic examination of language as a scientific discipline. As a fundamental human capability, language originates from cognitive processes in the brain. It serves social functions and can be learned by both children and adults. Languages represent a community's communication system - they evolve throughout history and, in modern times, many face the threat of extinction. Various specialized areas within linguistics focus on analyzing and interpreting these language characteristics. The Master of Arts (MA) curriculum offers foundational knowledge about the field's core concepts and methodologies.
