The University Interdisciplinary Studies (UIS) program serves as the institution's cross-disciplinary general education curriculum. These courses equip students with core knowledge domains, encouraging them to expand beyond their primary fields of study. UIS general education classes create common academic experiences for undergraduate students across the University of Hartford by establishing a foundational curriculum. With instructors drawn from all university departments, the program leverages the institution's wide-ranging academic strengths. Beyond broadening students' liberal arts education, UIS highlights connections between different fields through integrative, multidisciplinary coursework.
