Our close-knit graduate program provides students with numerous performance and learning opportunities, along with personalized career development guidance from faculty and visiting artists/lecturers.
Prospective students must hold a bachelor's degree in music from an accredited institution or an equivalent foreign program. The Graduate Studies Committee will evaluate whether an applicant's qualifications match the bachelor's degree standard and may require additional testing to assess readiness for Hartt's programs.
The oboe program at Hartt cultivates a supportive yet ambitious atmosphere where students push each other to grow artistically while developing professional skills for music careers. With modest studio sizes in the woodwind department, students receive focused mentorship and ample performance chances. Whether your goals involve performing, teaching, production, management, acoustics, or other music fields, Hartt's woodwind department can help launch your career.
