Our close-knit graduate program provides students with numerous performance and learning opportunities, along with personalized career development guidance from faculty and visiting artists/lecturers.
Prospective students must hold a bachelor's degree in music from an accredited institution or an equivalent foreign university. The Graduate Studies Committee will evaluate whether an applicant's qualifications match a bachelor's degree standard and may require additional testing to assess readiness for Hartt's programs.
The bassoon program at Hartt fosters a supportive yet competitive atmosphere where students push each other to grow artistically while developing the skills needed for professional success. With modest studio sizes across the woodwind department, every student receives ample individual mentorship and performance experience. Whether your goals include performing, teaching, production, management, acoustics, or other music careers, Hartt's woodwind department can help you achieve them.
