The Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program cultivates well-rounded musicians, blending exceptional artistry with academic understanding. Each curriculum prepares students for professional careers in performance, teaching, or composition at the highest level. Typically requiring at least two years beyond a master's degree, the DMA program mandates full-time residency during the first year with a minimum of 9 credits per semester. Students may begin with one summer session before residency. All DMA requirements must be fulfilled within seven years of enrollment.
