At Hartt, vocal studies emphasize developing technique and artistry under the guidance of renowned faculty. Our comprehensive undergraduate and graduate programs feature individual voice instruction, coaching sessions, vocal pedagogy courses, language and diction training, opera performance techniques, and our dynamic core music curriculum. Classical performance opportunities including choral ensembles, opera productions, and solo recitals serve as the cornerstone of Hartt's vocal programs. Through this balanced approach, Hartt equips voice students for diverse career paths - whether pursuing advanced degrees, private teaching, or professional performance. Each vocalist receives personalized instruction from Hartt's distinguished voice faculty, focusing on technical development and repertoire building. First- and second-year students attend weekly vocal seminars led by experienced coaches. The dedication to private practice, regular coaching sessions, and voice instruction culminates in performances through the Undergraduate Recital Series, fully produced operas, and choral concerts.
