The actor training program pushes you to grow both artistically and imaginatively, preparing you for success across diverse theatrical genres from modern to classical works. A structured sequence of acting, vocal, and movement classes nurtures your abilities while fostering courage and creativity. Senior acting students audition for parts in Hartford Stage Company productions, including their yearly staging of A Christmas Carol. Hartt offers abundant performance chances, exposing students to plays spanning theater history. Beginning with sophomore projects and advancing to fully staged professional productions, the selected works ensure every class gains demanding performance experience. During third-year spring, acting students undergo about ten weeks of focused Shakespeare training in England with faculty from the British professional theater scene. Attending performances in London and Stratford enriches this exceptional learning experience.
