Our program combines teaching with cutting-edge research in textile fiber and polymer science, merchandising and global trade, consumer psychology, historical and cultural studies of apparel and textiles, as well as residential interior design solutions. The Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Interiors provides both Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree options. M.S. candidates can specialize in historical/cultural dress studies, merchandising, interior design, or polymer, fiber & textile science. Participants engage in academic research while building professional skills applicable to corporate, governmental, and educational settings. The M.S. curriculum allows customized course selection to align with diverse career objectives, culminating in a required thesis. Qualification Requirements

Admission is competitive and is based on the following criteria:

Evaluation of transcripts GPA of at least 3.0
GRE scores - minimum of 300 (150 verbal and 150 quantitative)
Three letters of recommendation
Applicant's statement of goals including research interests
Resume (summary of your educational background and relevant experience)
International students - official TOEFL or IELTS scores

Prospective students must complete materials for the UGA Graduate School.

In response to COVID-19 pandemic, the following changes are made for the Fall 2021 admission cycle:
GRE score will be temporary waived for the admission cycle for Fall 2021.
For international students, Duolingo English Test (DET) score will be accepted as English Proficiency Test.

Minimum TOEFL score requirement: overall score of 80 with at least 20 on speaking and writing

Minimum IELTS score requirement: overall band-width of 6.5, with no single band (score) below 6.0
