The Master of Public Health (MPH) program was created to meet the growing demand for skilled public health practitioners.
By combining academic instruction with hands-on fieldwork, MPH candidates gain the expertise needed to serve and lead in public health initiatives across Georgia, nationally, and internationally. The University of Georgia College of Public Health's two-year MPH curriculum caters both to healthcare professionals seeking advanced training and to students pursuing careers in public health.
Participants can specialize in one of seven focus areas: Biostatistics, Disaster Management, Environmental Health Science, Epidemiology, Gerontology, Health Policy and Management, or Health Promotion and Behavior. Additionally, the College provides several dual degree opportunities, enabling students to combine their MPH with another undergraduate or graduate program.
The MPH degree mandates completion of at least 44 credit hours, which includes a 6-credit Applied Practice Experience. Graduation requirements also involve successfully passing a final comprehensive assessment worth 3 credit hours.
