The program mandates the fulfillment of 39 graduate-level credit hours. Participants progress through three phases: (1) foundational courses, (2) specialized electives, and (3) research components. These stages must be completed sequentially to earn the MPA degree. Core curriculum covers governmental structures and legal frameworks, economic dynamics and societal systems, leadership and management competencies, public finance principles, and data-driven decision-making tools utilizing statistical software. While 39 credits are required, up to six (6) transfer credits from prior graduate studies may count toward the degree with the MPA Director's approval. All candidates must satisfy a professional practicum requirement, which can be met through either an authorized internship or relevant work experience (refer to Professional Involvement and Internship options below). Beyond coursework, students must also develop and present a capstone project addressing a substantive issue in the field.
