The MFA curriculum features an adaptable, progressive structure enabling specialization or interdisciplinary exploration. Candidates receive personalized guidance from School of Art faculty while engaging with top researchers across various non-art disciplines at the University. MFA candidates produce diverse works including physical objects, temporary pieces, performance art, traditional paintings, photographic works, spatial installations, multimedia projects, wearable art, fabric creations, environmental designs, audio works, and interactive experiences.
Program participants must successfully complete periodic evaluations and present a public exhibition of their creative output during their final term. Faculty assess this exhibition to determine if it demonstrates professional-level achievement, with approval being mandatory for degree completion.
New students begin each fall, with applications due by January 1.
