The University of Georgia's Mary Frances Early College of Education, through its Department of Educational Theory and Practice, offers a Master of Education in Middle Grades Education focused on teaching young adolescents (grades 4-8) through equity and justice-based approaches. This program caters to both practicing middle school educators and individuals passionate about adolescent education. Classes are available in-person and online during spring, summer, and fall semesters to suit working professionals' schedules, delivered by UGA's internationally renowned College of Education faculty.
This M.Ed. program features rolling admissions, allowing students to enroll at any time during the year. Participants select a specialization area from English/language arts, mathematics, science, or social studies. To graduate, students must complete 36 credit hours of coursework along with the department's Multicultural Education Survey and Exit Survey requirements.
