Our department provides advanced degree programs in Interpersonal & Health Communication and Rhetorical Studies. Through our Double Dawg, Master's, and Doctoral programs, students explore communication in personal, public, and political contexts, preparing for both professional and academic pathways.

The Department of Communication Studies (previously known as Speech Communication) grants MA and PhD degrees. Students specialize in either Interpersonal & Health Communication or Rhetorical Studies. Our graduate education aims to equip students with research tools for advancing communication knowledge, develop exceptional skills for sharing this knowledge with diverse audiences, and promote a spirit of intellectual curiosity and public service. Qualification Requirements

To be admitted to the MA program we look for undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0, as well as strong letters and a very good paper.

Minimum TOEFL score requirement: overall score of 80 with at least 20 on speaking and writing
Minimum IELTS score requirement: overall band-width of 6.5, with no single band (score) below 6.0
