The Environmental Ethics Certificate Program (EECP) offers an interdisciplinary, non-degree initiative that enriches graduate studies. This program creates a platform for students and faculty to explore societal and scientific obligations regarding environmental stewardship.
The Graduate Environmental Ethics Certificate aims to equip professionals with supplementary qualifications, fostering career growth. Our program educates graduate students to approach environmental challenges by integrating philosophical, social, political, legal, economic, scientific, and artistic perspectives alongside conventional reasoning.
As an interdisciplinary initiative, the EECP equips participants to combine diverse viewpoints when addressing intricate environmental issues, both conceptually and in real-world applications.
This 18-credit program includes mandatory courses in ecology and ethics, a one-semester environmental ethics seminar, plus seven credit hours of approved electives. Participants must also produce a research paper analyzing ethical dimensions of environmental concerns. Graduates apply this ethical framework throughout their primary studies and professional careers, emerging as influential leaders in their fields.
