Proper nutrition and balanced dietary intake are essential for preventing illness and maintaining wellness. The growing need for skilled dietetics professionals who can deliver excellent nutritional care to both individuals and communities is evident. The Didactic Program in Dietetics aims to equip students for thriving careers in this field while inspiring them to take on leadership positions within their profession and the broader community. This dietetics program is officially recognized by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. After finishing the Dietetics Program, graduates must complete an accredited dietetic internship to qualify for the dietitian registration exam. Starting January 1, 2024, the Commission on Dietetic Registration will mandate at least a master's degree for eligibility to take the certification exam to become a registered dietitian nutritionist. Georgia additionally requires licensure for practice. Our nationally accredited Bachelor of Science in Dietetics program serves as your initial pathway to becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist - the recognized authority in food and nutrition science.
